A number of Ugandan leaders seek leadership positions for the purposes of self-satisfaction instead of developing and helping their followers. Steve Kim realized that there was need to mentor Ugandans from all sectors of the society to become great leaders on top of raising up a generation of authentic leaders that will transform the country.
For that matter, Steve Kim started mentoring me with a vision of transforming Uganda at large. After mentoring and coaching me to become a leader of character and integrity, Steve encouraged me to go ahead and mentor professionals in different fields to become great leaders so that they would also mentor others in future, which I did. My mentees are now coaching the future leaders who are being supported by Canadian sponsors at different universities, through Global Joy Foundation Uganda. From a first person point of view as a mentee, every time when I leave our one-on-one mentorship meetings, I would feel like being set free from chains and false burdens that have been blinding, deceiving, and torturing me, which allows me to have room to make things right again.
